Rotational Drive And Axial Feed Head
The rotational drive and axial feed head are enclosed in a single aluminum housing. This combination rotation and axial feed gear box slides over the end of the boring bar and is secured by a simple clamp collar. It allows the operator to control the bar speed and the axial feed rate. Both speeds are changeable on the fly. It also allows the operator to select the direction the boring head travels and provides a manual override for rapid positioning. |

Boring Bar
The boring bar is a 2 1/2" diameter chrome-plated bar with a steel acme lead screw. By feeding the boring head the entire length of the bar, the BoreMaster 2000 is able to machine longer bores in a single set-up. It can do this with better accuracy and stability than less rigid push/pull boring systems. |

Main Support Bearings
The main support bearings are self-aligning spherical roller bearings enclosed in a steel housing to retain lubrication and prevent entry of dirt or chips. The bearing assemblies are secured to the bar by split-tapered sleeves. They are postioned along the length of the boring bar to resist radial and axial cutting tool loads. |

Drive End Bearing Support
The drive end bearing support holds the weight of the boring system, establishes the centerline of the bore and stops the rotational drive unit from rotating. The drive end bearing support attaches directly to the work piece. |

Tail End Bearing Support
The tail end bearing supports the weight of the boring system and establishes the centerline of the bore. The tail end bearing support attaches directly to the work piece. |

Boring Head Assembly
We know no boring job is routine. Therefore we designed the BoreMaster 2000 boring head to fit any boring configuration. The boring head is fed along the boring bar by the feed screw in the boring bar.

Optional Taper Boring Head
The Model 2000 taper boring head is mechanically activated and travels the length of the boring bar, allowing long tapered bores to be machined with precision and ease. Its split design provides for quick set-up without removing the boring bar. Different tapers can be machined with one head simply by changing one gear. Since each head is customized to meet the customer's machining requirements, contact a BoreMaster application engineer to discuss your unique needs.
