Machine Technologies, Inc. Introduces New Light Weight, Portable Boring System
HATFIELD, PA, 8/1/04 - Machine Technologies, Inc. has introduced a new addition to its line of industrial BoreMaster boring systems, the Model 1500. The Model 1500 is designed as a low-cost, easy-to-use, portable system that installs quickly and easily on any work platform, and is driven by the customer's available power supply. It has a boring range of 1-1/2" to 6" in diameter and a boring length of up to 8 feet.
The key to the system is its simplicity. In just three easy steps, a user can set up and run the boring bar for precise re-boring of existing holes in backhoe buckets, loaders, and other worn hinge points typical to construction and earth moving equipment. The Model 1500's unique automatic axial feed and micrometer-adjustable tooling enables novice and experienced operators alike to machine smooth, accurate bores with precision. The axial feed assembly automatically feeds the boring bar a fixed 0.0025" per bar revolution so the user never has to worry about over-feeding. The optional micrometer-adjustable tool setter allows the depth of cut to be set to within 0.0005".
The Model 1500 complements MTI's line of sophisticated boring systems for large, complex and precise boring in applications ranging from industrial and marine, to quarry and power generation, in sizes up to 155" diameter. The 1500 was developed specifically for independent service contractors and captive service technicians who seek a fast, low-cost method of repairing hinge connections on-site in off-road equipment.
